Who am I?

bg-introHello, I’m Sarah, a fashion loving web designer from Liverpool who has just been accepted into Parson’s The New School of Design University so I’m packing up my life and moving to New York.

I’ve been working as a web designer for the last 7 years in a mixture of design agencies and corporate businesses and have decided to take the next step and do a Masters in Strategic Design Management. For this new direction I have decided to start writing down my thoughts on the new creative world I am entering in a way to try and take everything in and savor the experience. I also wanted to get down some of my ideas and opinions on emerging designs and trends as well as writing about some of my experiences so far in the design industry.

Work life aside I love spending my spare time painting, traveling and indulging my sweet tooth through baking. I love art, though wish I was better at it myself, so I’m excited about being able to visit NY’s finest exhibitions (which my poor boyfriend will no doubt be dragged along to) and I plan to try and cover as much design related things as I can ranging from art to web design to fashion as I think I’m in the right city for it.

As for travel, I was lucky enough to travel round South America, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand & Europe in a break from work a year after leaving Leeds University but I plan to make the most of the United States. I fear there may be too much ground to cover but I’m hoping there will be a fair few road trips to come crossing a few things off my bucket list.

I’m not sure what to expect from this new adventure but I hope you get to enjoy some of it through my eyes…
