A 26 year old secret has finally come to light, the Simpsons & Piet Mondrian have inspired a range of wine bottle designs with beautifully, minimal results.
Creating packaging and labelling for a product that needs to ‘stand out from the crowd’ when sat on a supermarket shelf is important but often difficult. It needs to be clear and bold and so the use of the Simpson’s bright, cartoon colours and Mondrian’s simple colour blocks is actually the perfect match.
Constantin Bolimond and Dmitry Patsukevich are the designers behind this “Wine, or maybe not?” concept, using the different characters to denote the range of flavours available.
Brilliantly modern despite being design 26 years previous, it shows that great, classic design inspiration can come from the strangest places.
